Nokia 1100

The Nokia 1100 is a no-nonsense phone built for reliability and simplicity. As the feature lists for mobiles grow ever long, it's clear that sometime people just need a phone, and the Nokia 1100 is designed for that market.

This is a dual-band phone with quite a large display for a monochrome device at 96x65 pixels. The Nokia 1100 measures a comfortable 106x46x20 mm (shown approx actual size on a 72dpi display) and weighs a mere 86 grams. Talktime on the Nokia 1100 is 2 to 4.5 hours with 4 to 16 days standby - this is network dependent, UK and most European networks will tend to offer battery life at the upper end of the scale.

Nokia 1100

Apart from the lightweight design, the case is one of the most notable features. The Nokia 1100 has a simple and extremely attractive cover designed to be durable, and it also has silicon non-slip sides to make it easy to hold.

The Nokia 1100 also has a built-in flashlight, which can be incredibly useful, vibration alert, two games, internal antenna, screensavers and a calendar.

Just to be clear, the Nokia 1100 does not have a digital camera, GPRS, Bluetooth, Java support, or a colour screen. It's a little like phones used to be, only with a few really useful additions, and this makes it very light and very inexpensive. Indeed, with one of the most elegant cases in the whole Nokia range, the 1100 is a highly attractive phone.
