Samsung i530 (SGH-i530)
The Samsung SGH-i530 is an advanced Palm
OS based Smartphone that combines several
innovative features that set it apart from
run-of-the-mill phones.
Firstly, the Palm OS operating system
is an extremely powerful and popular software
platform, with a wide range of applications
potentially available.
Secondly, the 324x352 pixel touch-sensitive
display on the Samsung i530 is easily
the most impressive that we have seen on
any handset so far.
On the outside of the SGH-i530 is a 96x128
pixel display and digital camera (resolution
to be confirmed), and the phone is finished
off in typically elegant Samsung stlyle.
The SGH-i530 supports handwriting recognition
(using the supplied stylus), has an XHTML/WAP
2.0 web browser, email client, Java and
a comprehensive set of PIM (personal information
management) functions.
This is quite a wide and deep phone,
measuring 87x54x29mm. Battery life and weight
are yet to be confirmed.
Anticipated availability for the Samsung
i530 is late 2004. Subscribe to our newsletter
