Sharp GX20
The latest clamshell phone from Sharp, the Sharp GX20 represents a significant
evolution in mobile design.. not revolutionary, just
better.
For starters, there's a clear 240x320 display, built-in camera with up to 480x640
resolution, polyphonic ringtones and java support for
games.
The Sharp GX20 is a tri-band phone, allowing it to
be used on GSM networks worldwide. It also supports
WAP over GPRS, which combined with the good sized screen
makes internet access a lot more fun.
But in addition to all of these, the Sharp GX20 packs
some unusual features. Firstly, the camera comes with
a macro lens in addition to the standard setting enabling
close up shots of small objects.
Also, the Sharp GX20 has a built-in torch/camera
flash which comes in several colours including multicoloured
disco lights, and all the colours of the spectrum including
red (handy for mapreading at night, especially with
the macro lens.. trust us on this one!)
It can also send and receive video clips and photos,
plus a cracking selection of games for the GX20 unit.
The Sharp GX20 has about the clearest and brightest
screen we've seen on any mobile.
Current units are tightly tied in to the Vodafone
Live! service, so accessing information services over
WAP is very easy with lots of tailored applications.
All-in-all, a versatile little phone weighing just
102 grams and well worth considering!
