Siemens CF62
The Siemens CF62 is a rare appearance
of a Siemens clamshell, it a stark angular
design that owes more to the like os the
Siemens SX1
than the curvy MC60.
The CF62 is a compact clamshell,
measuring around 85x45x22 mm and weighing
85 grams. Inside is a 128x128 pixel display
in 65,000 colours, with a secondary monochrome
display so you can see who's calling.
It's fairly typical stuff inside the
CF62 - tri-band GSM, GPRS, Java and
polyphonic ringtones. There's an add-on
VGA camera available as an option.
An unusual design feature is the antenna
which doubles as a carrying handle - quite
how Siemens expect you to carry it around
is a mystery, but it's highly distinctive
and it gives the CF62 the "wow"
factor that a phone like this needs to lift
it above the competition.
Siemens are pitching the CF62 at the
value end of the market, so it will probably
be very inexpensive or free with most tariffs
and there's a fair chance it will be available
on pay-as-you-go too.
