The LG U8130 is another upgrade to the popular LG U8100 series of handsets, being some of the smallest and lightests 3G handsets on the market.

Specifications are yet to be confirmed, but the major improvements with the LG U8130 over previous models appear to include a better main screen (now 262,000 colours) and improved switching between 3G and 2.5G networks, meaning less chance of a dropped call when you move out of a 3G coverage area.

The LG U8130 weighs around 130 grams and measures 99x50x24mm. Primary display is 176x220 pixels in 65,000 colours with a smaller monochrome sub-display on the outside with multicolour backlighting. There's a rotating VGA resolution camera, allowing the LG 8130 to make video calls.

There's a WAP 2.0 browser for accessing web content, polyphonic ringtones plus downloadable wallpapers and personal information management functions.
