T-Mobile MDA III
The T-Mobile MDA III is a highly sophisticated
Windows-based Smartphone with a large screen
and sliding QWERTY keypad.
In our view, the MDA III is one of the
most powerful and attractive phones ever
made, packing an incredible feature set
that sets it apart from everything else.
Firstly, there's a large PDA-style screen
in 320x240 pixels in 65,000 colours which
can be used with a stylus in normal PDA
fashion. However, at the bottom of the MDA
UUU you can unslide a full QWERTY keyboard,
enabling easy emailing, wordprocessing and
much more.
Then there's connectivity, as well as
tri-band GSM and GPRS, the MDA III also
has built-in wireless Ethernet and Bluetooth,
plus USB and infra-red connections to a
PC or laptop.

The MDA III also has a VGA resolution
digital camera, removal memory on MMC cards,
128Mb RAM (subject to confirmation) - all
wrapped in a slimline 125x70x19 mm case
weighing about 210 grams.
Of course, one of the great strengths
of Windows-based Smartphones in the software.
The MDA III runs Windows
Mobile 2003 for PocketPC Phone Edition,
and is bundled with pocket versions of Outlook,
Internet Explorer, Word and Excel (again,
final software package subject to confirmation).
You can easily exchange data, email, contacts
and appointments with a Windows-based PC,
and the Ethernet and GPRS network support
enable you to browse the web and send email
from pretty much anywhere.
